My favorite thing about the transitional seasons – fall and spring — is that you can still incorporate items from the previous season in your wardrobe by simply putting some thought into it and selecting complimentary in-season items.
Even though spring is officially here, I’m still hesitant to pull out my sandals and sundresses just yet. If you’re living in warmer year round climates like California or Florida, maybe you never even put them away but in the majority of the country we are in still in the process of changing our closets around for the new season. But before you throw everything wool and winter into a big box with glee for next year…consider curating a few pieces you can still use on chillier days for a little while longer. Think layering pieces that can get you started in the morning and if they become too stifling, you can shed them in the afternoon.
Think of your transitional outfit like a formula: 1-2 heavy winter items (i.e. vest, jacket, boots, or corduroy pants) + 1-2 lightweight items (i.e. thinner material shirt, ballet flats (see pic below), lighter colored denim, or trendy silk pajama style pants)
I found a few examples of what you may already have in your closet to assist in imagining some new transitional outfits.
